Charles Teddy Johns was born on March 31, 1955 in Sanford, Florida, and he left us on July 20, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida after a journey through cancer. Ted will live on through his children Ian and Courtney, son-in-law Rob, his granddaughter, Kaylee, and daughter-in-law, Georgine. Mr. Johns will live on in the hearts and minds of all of who are left with memories and experiences sharing life with him. Ted has a very large family of siblings, plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. They will all miss his presence for the rest of their days.
Ted lost his Mama when he was just a baby, and that experience of being raised by his brothers and sisters led to a lifetime of close relationships with brothers and sisters who were surrogate fathers and mothers. They have kept their memories of "Mama" alive for him for his entire life, their love and hers helped shape him into the Ted we all knew and loved. Our family is grateful for the many thoughts, prayers, visits, and other special kindnesses expressed over the last several months, and we wish to express our deep gratitude for the excellent care received from the Fleming Island Cancer Center as well as the Acosta-Rua Community Hospice Center, both located in Jacksonville, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, kindly honor Ted with a donation for Gallbladder Cancer Research to the MD Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd. Houston, TX 77030, (online at https://www.mdanderson.org) or to the Acosta-Rua Community Hospice Center at 5450 Ramona Blvd, Jacksonville, FL (or online at: CommunityHospice.com).
